What to Expect
@ Sandy Plains
At Sandy Plains you will discover a warm group of people dedicated to following our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We meet at 10:30 am Sunday mornings for a 1 hour worship service, with uplifting songs, a message for real life from the Bible, and to encourage one another.
When you're ready, there's also Bible Study & Community groups that meet every Sunday at 9:30 am. Simply see any Greeter outside to check out a few of them to see which is a good fit.
There is an additional prayer & worship service Sundays at 6 pm.
From the moment you walk up to the building you can expect…
A Warm Greeting
A heartfelt greeting is part of what makes a church a church. No matter what question you might have just ask. Our greeters are there to help you get settled and comfortable.
If you're looking to build real friendships, we value creating those opportunities. This is a church family where we care about and build one another up in the faith.
It is good to have levity as well as reverence. This is an atmosphere where we love joy, and in friendships you can form there is joy. We're a place that is serious about hope and joy, that comes from real connection with God and others.
Expect to be noticed. Expect people to say something like, “Hi, we haven’t met before, is this your first time?” Expect for people to reach out to you in love.
We love music, all kinds of music. From hymns, contemporary songs, and more we have the talent and hard work by God's grace to really use music to show our Lord how much we love and honor Him.
The Bible tells us to speak the truth in love. The Bible is God’s truth. At Sandy Plains Baptist Church we seek to explore, understand and apply God’s truth to our lives at every level in a spirit of love. You will find a growing variety of resources to help you grow in God’s truth. We rejoice how God speaks new things into our lives on how to live the Christian life through the Bible.

As you join us in worship this week:
Sunday morning Worship Service meets in the "Family Life Center" building. This is the largest building on campus, we outgrew the older chapel.
We'll worship in song, hear a message from the Bible for real life, and fellowship. The style of dress varies, so just come as you are.
These meet in the Education building and former Chapel (both red brick buildings). Our greeters standing outside will direct you to the right place, for Bible Study or Worship Service.
Children's Worship is available during Sunday services as well as during the Sunday Bible study groups. The leaders of those ministries do go through training, background checks and love kids.
More info on Children's Ministries is on that page linked here. Greeters will help you find the check in place, and there are also large brushed aluminum signs for the Children's ministries entrances. There is a "Meadows" (Pre-K to K) and "Highlands" (1st up through High School) sign to show the exact entrance as you park.
The Sunday evening worship service @ 6-6:55 pm is located in the Chapel, which is the older looking church building. It is not the same place as Sunday morning worship, which is in the much larger Family Life Center.
Sandy Plains also has regular adult and children's Sports Ministries. There are:
- Adult Pick Up Basketball Thursdays,
- Adult Softball Saturdays, and more.
We look forward to seeing you Sundays 10:30 am for worship!
